Shamar Joseph gets Steve Smith with his first ball in Test Cricket!

There has been only one discussion since David Warner retired. Who will open in his place. Shane Watson gave the solution. The one who has been batting at number three(3) for so long is more used to the new ball. He should be given the responsibility. He shouldered that responsibility. Smith also came down to open in place of David Warner. But as an opening batsman, who knew that it would be so full in the beginning. Steve Smith was out for twelve (12) runs off Samar Joseph's first ball! Which has surprised the cricket world.

West Indies (WI) was once the world terror cricket team. The Caribbean team has come a long way from that golden era. Lately West Indies(WI) means only T20 league and franchise cricket. West Indies recruiting players for the Test series against Australia was a tough task. Three(3) players have made their debut against Australia. Justin Greaves, Kavem Hodge, Samar Joseph are playing their first Test. And that's how Joseph made a fuss. 'Debut' opener Stave Smith threw his own wicket on the first ball of the debut Test bowler Shamar Joseph.

He made cricket history when he was bowled in the ninth over of Australia's innings today. Hitting a good length outside the off stump on the first delivery, he pulled Smith, opening for the first time in Tests, to bat and returned with a catch out at third slip on the thick edge of the bat. He became the 23rd bowler to take a first-ball wicket in men's Tests and only the second West Indian bowler since Tyrell Johnson against England at The Oval in 1939.

Match Summary

Australia has proved before that the fielding decision was not wrong by winning the toss. The first (1st) innings of West Indies ended with only 188 runs. Kirk McKenzie scored 50 at number three. All others fail. Joseph made 36 at the very end. Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins took four (4) wickets each. 1 wicket each for Mitchell Starc and Nathan Lyon. It cannot be said that Australians are very relieved to bat in response. Along with Smith (12), Marnus Labuschagne (10) also returned. In between, Smith did not understand Joseph's bouncing ball. Both wickets are in Joseph's pocket. It was Shamar who kept West Indies in the fight at the end of the first day.
