The decision review system (DRS) and concussion change rules have been changed by the International Cricket Council (ICC). The highest governing body of cricket has changed itself in three rules. As a result of this decision, the bowling team will not get additional benefits from this time. As per the new rule, the third umpire will no longer check the cut behind in the case of stumping appeals.  From this time on cut behind not stumping, only the team will challenge the umpire's decision for what will be seen. DRS technology and concussion replacement rules have been changed. Changes have also been made to the time rules for injury tests on the field.

Although the decision was announced during the India-South Africa second Test, the ICC said it has been effective since December 12.

Change In DRS Rules

For so long, the third umpire used to see both things in the case of DRS in stumping. First, it was seen whether the ball hit the bat. If there was a chance of a catch, it would have been seen if the keeper took it well. Many a times stumping also saw cut-behind wickets. Henceforth only that will be seen in the case of reviews of stumpings. To take a review of Cut Behind, it must be said separately. That is, more than one out review can no longer be taken in one application.

As seen on several occasions in the India-Australia series earlier last year, Aussie keeper Alex Carey has resorted to stumping. At that time the third umpire (television umpire) checked the stumping as well as cut behind. In case of a DRS, two things were seen. Henceforth only side on angle will be considered for stumping.

Change In Concussion Rules

Concussion rules have also been changed. Bowling rules have also changed when a team's bowler goes out due to injury and is replaced by another bowler. The replacement bowler can bowl only if the previous bowler is injured while bowling. If at any other time he is injured, he cannot bowl even if the bowler is dropped as a substitute.

Change In Extra Time Rules

Earlier, there was no fixed time for testing if there was an injury on the field. But from now on, if there is an injury on the field, the doctors will not be able to take more than 4 minutes. Within that they have to make a decision. ICC has changed this rule so that extra time is not wasted on the field.

The use of modern technology in cricket has brought more clarity to the rules. On the other hand, with the changes in modern cricket, ICC is keeping a clear eye on various aspects. As a result they have recently brought some changes in the rules. This time more clarity has been brought about the application of out behind the wicket.
