What Is The New Rules?

According to a report by ESPNcricinfo, from the next season of IPL i.e. IPL 2024 onwards, bowlers will be allowed to bowl a maximum of 2 bouncers in each over of an IPL match. So far this has not happened. Until now, the IPL followed the same rules as international cricket, whereby bowlers could bowl a maximum of one bouncer in an over. A ball more than that was considered a no ball. A bouncer would have given the batters peace, at least no more bouncers are coming in this over.  However, the batsmen do not have this relief in the next edition of IPL. According to the new rules of IPL, two bouncers can be given in an over. If the bowler bowls three bouncers in an over, the third bouncer will be called a no ball.  Good news for Pacers. They can bring more variety in bowling. A new challenge for batters. But till now there is no official statement from BCCI about this new rule.

Indian pacer Jaydev Unadkat Welcoming the new rules of IPL, it is a great decision. Jaydev said, "A pacer can also bowl a slower bouncer. As a result, the batter could understand that the bouncer will not come in this over. This time they will also be careful. Even if the bowlers give one bouncer at the beginning of the over, the option of giving one more is open. Batsmen who are weak on bouncers need to get better. Bowlers will get one more weapon."

What Is Impact Player Rules In IPL

The impact player rule was introduced for the first time in the 2023 IPL. According to this rule, at the time of the toss, a team has to list four players in addition to the playing eleven. The team can then use any one of those four players as their impact player. If a team includes four foreign players in their starting XI, they can bring only one Indian as an impact player. The impact player rule has reduced the game of all-rounders to a great extent.

Every year some new rules are added in IPL. The impact player rule had a lot of impact on IPL matches last year. Some liked this rule, while others opposed it. At the same time, the batsman was given the right to review in the case of wides and no balls, so that if there is any doubt he can resolve it himself. Similarly, the rule of two bouncers in an over can give relief to teams. At least the Pacers will be excited, it goes without saying.

The trading window is currently closed, but will reopen a day after the mini-auction on December 20, 2024 will remain open until one month before the start of the season. IPL 2024 is likely to be held between March 22 and May end.
