The rules of the 2027 Cricket World Cup are changing

Upcoming 2027 World Cup News:

The 2023 Cricket World Cup has just ended. In this year's Cricket World Cup, Team India is the most favorite team, but in the end, Australia defeated Team India and became the champion for the sixth time. The dream that Team India and 1.4 billion people of India dreamed of turned into dust in an instant. But with this dream shattered, Team India and other countries now started thinking about the next World Cup.

About 2027 world cup

The next One Day Cricket World Cup after 2023 is in 2027. But that year will not be played according to the same rules as this year. The 2027 Cricket World Cup will be played under new rules. 2027 Cricket World Cup will be hosted in Africa. It will be hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia. How to qualify for this tournament

South Africa and Zimbabwe will get a chance to host the 2027 One Day Cricket World Cup. The remaining eight countries will get a chance based on the ICC ranking. On the other hand, four countries will get a chance to judge the global qualifier tournament. However, even though Namibia is the host country of the tournament, they may not get a chance to participate directly. Because they have not yet received full membership of the ICC. In this case they may have to qualify by passing the qualification round.

Changing in rules

The format in which the Cricket World Cup will be played in 2027 is completely different from that of 2023. This Cricket World Cup will be very much like the format of 2003. Total 14 teams will be divided into two groups i.e. each group will have 7 teams. The top of each group in the group stage will be selected as the qualifying team to advance to the next round. Those 6 teams will be Super Six.

After playing Super Six, four teams from there will enter the semi-finals as qualified teams. From there, two teams will qualify for the finals. In the group stage, each team will have the opportunity to play each other at least once. Also here another new rule is going to be added and that new rule is point carry forward. Earlier, the point carry forward was in the 1999 Cricket World Cup.

12 runs instead of 6 over boundaries!

Many rules (Cricket Rule) change from time to time in the cricket world. Ever since T20 cricket came and the excitement of club cricket has increased, more and more new rules have started coming. New rules are often seen in Big Bash League, Indian Premier League, CPL. There may be a rule in cricket where 12 runs can be given in sixes instead of 6.

You will surely be surprised to hear. Former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen posted one such post on social media, following which the new rules of cricket are being discussed. In a post on Robin's X, Kevin Pietersen wrote, 'Two years ago I commented that a batsman needs 12 runs to hit 100m sixes. Now this rule is coming….'

According to the rules in the cricket world, no matter how big a six a batsman hits, he gets 6 runs. But if they start getting 12 runs instead of sixes, this game can be more interesting. But this may not be applicable now in international cricket. This rule can be introduced in first league cricket. However, the information of this rule has not been informed by any concerned cricket board or ICC for any league. It will be the first time that this rule h as been introduced in a world league. Such an incident has never been seen before in the world of cricket. The IPL is going to start in a couple of months. Now we have to see in which league this rule is implemented.
